When I first read about this series, I was excited. I've just hit the big 40 and I felt like so many accolades are placed on younger writers.
This first post was a cracker. I loved Steven's comment about being a writer because he writes. 🙌 His journey to publication was a fabulous insight into how the industry can work.
Thanks for shining a spotlight on those of us with more life experience under our belts. I can't wait to read the next instalment.
This was so inspiring. I’m 45 and finally telling myself, hey maybe you can be a writer (I’ve been practicing law for 15 years). This landed for me. Thanks, Kerri.
I love Steven Rowley's books and was thrilled to read this! What an inspiring series about later-in-life achievements! I'm 52 and am working on my first book. Maybe some day I'll be featured here. ;)
So glad I subscribe to your Substack (having loved reading The Paris Bookseller!) and looking forward to more of these interviews. I find it very interesting to learn about what and how other writers attend the craft. Keep it up!
I adore Steven Rowley and I've read all his books except for The Guncle Abroad; I even wrote about him and his books on my newsletter back in 2021. I have an ARC of his newest one and will read it closer to publication date in May.
I published my first book in 2022 at age 61. My mother published her first book in the same year--she was 89. Now 90, she’s working on book #2.
Talented family!!

Thank you, Alicia! I can’t wait to share more of the series :)

Allison - I'm SO GLAD! Lots of lawyers become writers. We're all words people :-)

Keep writing. (I often imagine Dori from Finding Nemo: "Just keep writing, just keep writing..."

Thank you, Marc - I learn so much from other writers as well!
Thanks for this inspiring post!!
You are welcome! More to come...
I love this series! As a new writer in her 40s and on the brink of 50, this is so inspiring! I also adore Mr. Rowley 💕💕💕💕
Thank you! Hope you’ll stay tuned for more :)
Enjoyed this interview. Inspiring! Thanks.
